VOCAL & FLUTE CONCERT – November 4

Karen Green Piano Concert – August 5, 2023

Join us for a piano concert of hymn arrangements, compositions and improvisations. You’ll be encouraged as you come to understand hymn texts in a way that will enrich your singing, both personally and with your congregation.

This is a free concert. Doors open at 6:30 pm. A free will offering will be taken.

Karen Green studied at Berklee College of Music and is a gifted pianist, composer and arranger. She has many years of training and experience in the world and disciplines of both classical music and improvisation. She has composed six oratorios on Biblical subjects that include music for mixed choir, women’s choir, vocal and instrumental solo and accompaniment, and has recorded numerous arrangement/compositions of hymns for the piano.

The Ed Jakuboski Quintet

Join us on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 7:00pm as we welcome the The Ed Jakuboski Quintet for an evening of musical diversity.

This dynamic group of musicians is made up of some of the finest players from the Philadelphia region. The quintet performs a wide variety of music that appeals to all audiences with arrangements of classic jazz standards, blues, spirituals, and original compositions. The program will include music by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Miles Davis and others.

The New Jersey Chamber Orchestra

On Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 7:00pm the New Jersey Chamber Orchestra, led by Music Director, Thomas Hong will be with us for an all Copland program.

This amazing program encapsulates the hope, optimism and earnestness of the American spirit present in Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Tender Land suites.

Ruth Naomi Floyd in Concert

Join us on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 7:00 pm for an evening of sacred jazz music with Ruth Naomi Floyd and trio.

A vocalist and composer, Ruth Naomi Floyd has created a discography explicitly dedicated to a sacred jazz expression. She has been at the forefront of creating vocal jazz settings that express Christian theology for over 25 years. She leads her own multi-faceted ensemble and her recordings consist primarily of original compositions. Blessed with a soaring mezzo-soprano voice, critics praise Ms. Floyd’s music for its distinctive sound of progressive ensemble jazz that is seamlessly blended with messages of hope, faith, redemption, and love. Ms. Floyd has recorded and performed with such notable instrumentalists as James Newton, James Weidman, Gary Thomas, John Patitucci, Terri Lyne Carrington, and George Cables, to name a few.

Erikson Rojas Piano Concert

Join us on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. to experience Cuban-American pianist Erikson Rojas' rich and varied performance of music from Cuba, Spain, Germany, and beyond. We would be delighted to have you join us for a reception after the concert. Hailed as “an impressive performer in his own right...impassioned, hypnotic, insightful...superb tonal control” by the New York Concert Review, and as a “prodigy…Rojas, the piano and the music become one” by the Los Angeles Times. Erikson has given numerous solo and chamber performances in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America, including eight appearances at Carnegie Hall, New York.

Dr. Erikson Rojas is on faculty at Palm Beach Atlantic University and Csehy Summer School of Music. He also serves as Pianist of the Choral Society of the Palm Beaches and as Music Minister and Organist at Royal Palm Presbyterian Church and Grace Community Church in Southeast Florida, where he resides with his beloved wife Diandra.

Everyone experiences grief and loss. We all are affected by feelings of anxiety, anger, helplessness, and sadness. How should we process these emotions? Come to hear and learn what Dr. Diane Langberg, renowned psychologist, has to say to us in our journey through grief and loss.

Dr. Langberg is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Achievements from Taylor University, the American Association of Christian Counselors Caregiver Award, The Distinguished President’s award, and the Philadelphia Council of Clergy’s Christian Service Award.
