1 Chronicles Location: Auditorium Having previously studied history through the time of David's becoming King of Israel and his relocating the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem, we continue to see the progression of the kingdom of God's people as they prepare for the building of the Temple where God will be worshipped. David lives in a palace and desires to build a house for God but that privilege will be given to his son after him. Meanwhile, David defeats the enemies of Israel and solidifies the empire and possession of the Promised Land. The religious and civil leaders are organized for the future of the kingdom of God's people. Plans are made and materials gathered for the building of the Temple. Finally, David passes on the kingdom and his preparations for the temple to Solomon. In this study of chapters 17-29 of 1 Chronicles, we are drawn to worship the living and true God. The planning for the Temple points us to the holiness of God and our need to worship Him as he desires.
Women's Class Location: Fellowship Hall "Fear can make cowards of us all. It can also cripple the mighty, stripping us of confidence and strength to ever face the challenges of ordinary life - a terrible way to live." In the book "Running Scared" Ed Welch examines our worries and anxieties in the light of the beautiful words of comfort that the Bible offers to believers. The class will be led by Cindy Bech and Ruth Bird and will include a time of prayer together.
